I am embarrassed to say I have been designing jewelry for 2 years now, and I haven't been to the Gem Faire until today. Oh my gosh I was like a kid in a candy store. This place is definitely a must for the expert jeweler or even the novice jeweler. Let me make a few suggestions:

1)Bring your own water as they cost $3.50
2)Bring cash, although almost everyone has credit card machines
3)Don't buy the first thing you see, especially don't be tempted by the front booths.
4)I found that the best deals are usually towards the back.
5)Don't be afraid to negotiate if you are buying a lot. Hey it doesn't hurt to ask.
6)Control yourself. I know that is the hardest part.

I have really admired Kyanite gemstones,they are just so beautiful. It is a very effective energy conduit that can balance most systems of the body. It can quickly create stillness and tranquility.So I decided to make a petite little earring. Introducing the Blue Bell Earrings
Simple, sweet, stunning petite earrings. The vibrancy of the blue in kyanite just pops against 24K gold vermeil. Adoring the kyanite are intricate 24K gold filigree bead caps with one single freshwater seed pearl. The ear wires are also a little something special too, just a rose imprint in 24K gold vermeil.

Poppy - keishi pearls and zircon earrings

Luscious apricot zircon not cubic zirconia...but real zircon gemstones (trust me there is a total difference) complement beautifully on top of lustrous creamy white keshi pearls. Strawberry-Pistachio Tart Recipe from Everyday Food

I just love it when I try a new recipe and it blows me away. It was actually very easy to make and my guests were so impressed. From the May issue of Everyday food magazine.I high recommend using a silpat.

Strawberry-Pistachio Tart

all purpose flour, for rolling
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1/2 cup , shelled pistachios
2 tablespoons of sugar
5 cups thinly sliced strawberries, ( about 1 1/2 pounds)
1/4 cup apricot jam, warmed

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. One a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry
to a 12 by 16 inch rectangle. Transfer to a parchment lined rimmed baking sheet
and trim to make a rectangle. Freeze until firm, 10 min. With a fork, prick pastry
all over. To prevent pastry from rising, Top with a sheet of parchment paper and
stack another baking sheet on top. Bake until golden, 20 to 25 minutes.
2) Meanwhile, in a food processor, combine 1/4 cup pistachios and sugar and
process until pistachios are finely ground. Sprinkle mixture on pastry, leaving
a 3/4 inch border. Bake until pastry is deep golden about 15 to 17 minutes.
Roughly chop remaining 1/4 cup of pistachios. Remove sheet from oven, arrange
strawberries on pistachio mixture, overlapping slices. Brush berries with jam and
sprinkle chopped pistachios on the border. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Kate Middleton: Duchess of Cambridge Royal Wedding Jewelry

Staying up to watch the royal wedding from pacific standard time was no easy task.I was just dying to see the bride. I think the whole wedding was so hyped up and people had such high expectations, especially since we have the memory of Princess Diana's wedding. I really did love Kate's dress and her jewelry was classic, understated, and just beautiful. However I was expecting so much more, maybe more wow, more extravagance. I mean it was a royal wedding after all. She reminded me of Grace Kelly.

That being said the jewelry was impeccable! The Tiara was lent from the Queen.The tiara was made in 1936 by Cartier.The Duke of York gave it to his wife the Queen Elizabeth and then it was given to then Princess Elizabeth as an 18th birthday present.It is also known as the “halo” tiara.

The earrings were a gift from Kates's parents designed by Robinson Pelham to compliment the Tiara. The earrings have acorns designs as a node to her family coat of arms. How sweet.

Overall, her look is timeless, and she was radiant.

Just as refreshing as the taste of mint. This gemstone necklace is something quite special. Composed of 72 organic chrysoprase in shades of crisp apple green, moss green to clover green. Each gem is truly unique. Complementing the chrysoprase are faceted rainbow moonstone nuggets as well as rich 24K gold vermeil beads. Rainbow moonstone is primarily white with sudden flashes of blue when the stone is moved about, and some of the stones on these strands have green veins within them which complement the green chrysoprase.You can wear this necklace with the 24K gold vermeil clasp in the front or to the side or traditionally to the back. The Scared Space

Our friends brought us to this magical place called The Scared Space. I asked them as we were exiting the car "what is this place?" They simply replied you have to discover this place for yourself and find out. I was immediately aw struck at the serenity,and beauty of this spiritual shop. Artifacts from all over the world are sold here. Immediately upon entering we were asked if we would like some tea, and we were served tea in the outdoor pavilion. Trip to El Capitan Canyon

Growing up in the mountains, and now living in a big city. It was so nice to to travel up to Santa Barbara, and even nicer to stay in a creek side cabin in El Capitan Canyon. It was truly a wonderful experience to all the senses. To "camp" in a heated cabin sleeping on a bed with fresh crisp white sheets while listening to the sound of the water streaming down the creek. I was so inspired by all of the surrounding, it was truly lovely.I highly recommend it.

Just watched the movie "The Tourist" and I was in complete aw of the the styling of Angelina Jolie in every scene. The clothes were impeccable and utterly glamorous.
